WHY: I’m in Alaska
“Alaska.”
I’m sitting in my apartment in New York City when my fiance (now husband) sends me this one word text from Fort Rucker, AL where he is in training to become a Blackhawk pilot for the U.S. Army. A few weeks earlier the higher-ups told him to put four posts in order so we we’re expecting that our next stop would be Fort Campbell, Lewis, Bragg, or Hood.
“Alaska what??” I texted back.
“At least it’s not Korea!” he answered.
So that’s how I came to be here. We arrived on December 28, 2010 and will be here for 3 years.(1.9 down, 1.3 to go).
