It’s our second New Year’s in Fairbanks and it looks like we’ll be doing a repeat of last year! First, hitting up the Fairbanks Curling Lions 22nd annual Sparktacular Celebration on UAF’s West Ridge, then heading over to The Pump House for food, bagpipes and…karaoke. It, like a lot of things you run into in Fairbanks, is a weird mix but somehow it just works. Also, thanks to Amanda Guthrie and Kris Capps’ News-Miner column, we’ll be sending our New Year’s wishes out into the ether via sky lanterns!
Now, if we weren’t doing all that, what would we be doing?
Probably dinner at the super-kitschy (and a lil’ scary) Elf’s Den in North Pole, followed by the Christmas In Ice Snowflake Drop and fireworks.
OR maybe hitting up The Marlin‘s Front to Back party (Good Daze in the front, Sweating Honey in the back), or Earl Hughes at Ivory Jack‘s.
Whatever you end up doing, drive carefully and bundle up.
